Waking Night Support Worker

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join the team at this supported living service providing support for 14 adults with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.
Please note that for personal care reasons, only female candidates can be considered for this position. (Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and many of our service users require support during the night.
Please note our waking night support workers are required to be awake and vigilant throughout their night shift, even breaks. You will be required to check on residents as required by their care plans, and provide any support needed. Sleeping on duty is not permitted at any time.
You will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing.
You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night.
Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.

We believe that a successful support worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.
An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.
Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
