Waking Night Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for waking night support workers to join the team at this service providing support for adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs. 

Role Responsibility

Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and many of our services require support during the night.

Please note our waking night support workers are required to be awake and vigilant throughout their night shift, even breaks.  You will be required to check on residents as required by their care plans, and provide any support needed.  Sleeping on duty is not permitted.

You will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing.

You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night.

Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.

Occasionally you may be asked to work a shift at a nearby service if a staffing need arises.

The Ideal Candidate

At CMG, we believe that a successful support worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their dreams.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.
An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.

Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to help our teams ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.

Package Description

We operate the Government's childcare vouchers initiative, which are taken from your salary before your usual Tax and NI contributions are deducted, and also the Government's pension scheme.

We offer all staff 28 days annual leave, rising to 30 days after 1 year, with an option to buy up to 5 days additional holiday per year.  Annual leave and additional holiday are prorated for part time staff.

We also have a generous staff discount scheme, to save money on shopping, days out etc.
